OSU Mini Malter Project

Design Review Notes: 11/22/10

  • Heat warning on outside
  • Use triclover fittings for access to ducting and outflow pipe.
  • Reword customer requirement “weighted more heavily” issue regarding temperature requirements
  • Wet/dry bulb temperature sensors on the air outflow
  • Flow sensor
  • Hand damper on exhaust recirculation
  • Look into other materials for the air inlet piping
  • Design to sit on a pallet that the pallet jack or forklift can use
  • Add a leveling device or method
  • Present LabVIEW Equipment
  • Part Number              Description
  • FP-1601             Main Chassis
  • FP-A0-200        8 channel current output
  • FP-A1-110       16 bit analog input
  • FP-TC-120        8 channel thermocouple input
  • Begin pricing parts to develop a firm budget
  • add viewing window, possibly to the lid or the top of the machine
  • add a light for the inside of the machine
  • add status lights to the outside of the machine
  • add a manual baffle to adjust the amount of recirculated exhaust
  • Try and integrate some kind of chain driven auger rotation system to eliminate the need for a second motor
  • add in a humidifying spray nozzle to air inlet
  • make the bottom plate be removable
  • add racks to mount unloading bins on under the man-way
  • add in skids and leveling system instead of casters.
  • add in an E-STOP button to the exterior of the machine
  • add flow sensors to the air intake
  • have temperature sensors for the air intake, one in the grain bed, and one above the grain bed
  • try and intergrate their current LABview system into ours. find out what it will take to get a copy of LABview without purchasing it.
